Some of us are sleeping in our bomb shelters, others walk out into their stairwells when the sirens sound. In Gaza, there is nowhere to run. 213 people have been killed in Gaza in the current round of violence, 61 of them children. 13 people have been killed in Israel, two of whom were children. Those numbers are rising. Behind those numbers are human beings: Omar, a five month old whose mother and siblings were killed by Israeli Air Force bombing, and of Ido, a five year old from Sderot who was killed by a Hamas rocket
For all of those children, we need a ceasefire. Now. And we have the power to do it
Netanyahu has no mandate to continue the war - he is an interim Prime Minister who has not won the public’s trust and is using this conflict as a poker chip in his coalition negotiations. That is why our voice can undermine the legitimacy of ongoing aggression.
